Description of S2 SIGs

Special Interest Group on Edge Computing (SIG-EC)

Edging Computing covers the localized resource sharing and connections with the cloud. It has been used in mobile systems, smart cities, smart homes, and smart enterprises.

The Special Interest Group on Edge Computing (SIG-EC) will define its scope, conduct major technical activities, and create impacts to the society. SIG-EC provides a platform for the group members to exchange information, conduct professional collaborations, and promote research and application innovations around the world in the field of Edge Computing. The key technical aspects include but not limited to Edge devices, Edge communication protocols, Edge storage, Edge integration, and Edge applications.

The SIG-EC promotes creative thinking, long-term visions, and innovative methodologies to respond to the emerging Edge Computing technologies. The supporting conference is the International Conference on Edge Computing (EDGE, theEdgeComputing.org).
